I just bought a 3 inch down pipe from Kirban. It was a bitch to install....not as easy as they claim. The fit was less than desireable. Had to expand the cat end, expand the other end too. Anyways, where it meets up to my turbo exhaust elbow/housing, there is a slight leak. I followed the directions...put a bead of Permatex muffler sealer on it. What I dont like about that muffler sealer is that it dries rock hard, and cracks very easily. Has anyone found a better way to seal up an aftermarket downpipe? This area gets too hot for silicon...even the copper type is only rated for around 700F. I'm thinking of making up some kind of gasket, just haven't figured it out yet. I would appreciate any help.
