Stock muffler after cat system. The muffler at split of dual pipes in far rear end position blew out and or rust holes in it. What is best quick fix?

replacement of that muffler or install of new dual muffler system back from cat? Thanks for any suggestions from the pros out there. I checked out Pypes online but am not sure what is best action to take.

Fixing the stock exhaust is probaly just going to be a band aid. It's old and is going to finally give up. I say replace it. Another bad place in the system is going to show it's face sooner or later. I have no experience with the pypes system but have read that it's worth the great price. A few fitment issues but the price is right.

X1. You make perfect sense.

He failed to mention the massive backfire that blew out the muffler.

If the Y pipe is still in good condition just replace the muffler, AFTER you fix the problem causing the backfire. No sense spending money on a complete new exhaust if it is not needed. There are plenty of other things these cars will have you spending your money on. Good luck

Once the factory exhaust starts to rot, you're far better off to replace it. At this point, I would highly recomment stainless steel..... especially if you've ditched the cat and upped the power. Not sure why, but cat removal seems to accelerate the exhaust rusting out.

besides that, the factory exhaust wasn't really good to begin with.

stock exhaust

Hi,
I can't beleive you are still running the stock exhaust, with those mods. Of course, change it. The Pypes setup sounds good.Is Hooker catback still available? They were the cheap frontrunner, with good quality. Stainless will probably outlast you,but pricey.

Hi,
Oops,my mistake. I read another guy's script as your car's mods. Anyway, the cat back duals will help your flow a bunch. Otherwise, same as before. Good luck on your choice of exhaust!
