exhaust temp gauge

I thinking of getting a egt gauge and was wondering if any hot airs are using them? The air fuel gauge I have is junk.

My dad's car had one right before the uppipe back when it was hotair. IMO, they're only good at telling you if you're about to do damage but as far as tuning I think they're junk. The reason I say this is not only does the A/F ratio affect EGT but timing has a big effect as well. A race chip with more timing will lower EGTs even with the same A/F ratio. Get a little knock retard and the EGTs might scare you. Lower timing increases temps.
