explain a th400 use in a gn for me please

My trans is bad and ii dont drive the car much. Im leaning towards a 400. Explain how the shifting works with the manual valve body and reverse. Also this freecoasting with this trans. I dont mind shift but just want more info. I want a strong tranny for my future goals 10's. How fast on the hwy can you go with a 400 until the rpm's are to high for cruiseing. thanks Rich

Go to ck's website and do a little reading. You can get a lockup to keep the rpms down a bit(wont be much), Switch pitch so you can launch at a higher stall at the track and lower tall for normal driving. Some have used 400's from the junkyards and they've lasted. It takes power to turn them though so it'll eat up some.
