Extender chip and user settings

When you change any default settings on the Extender chip, are they supposed to reset back to default when the orange ECM wire (behind the battery) is disconnected or if battery power is disconnected?

Yes that will happen anytime the ECM voltage is removed or if it drops too low as in the case of a weak battery upon startup.
