Yesterday, I was able to get my GN back after having to sell it 6 months ago. Long story, see "A dream come true" in the turbo lounge if interested in the story. Anyway, when I sold the car, it had an LS1 MAF and Translator w/ an extender chip. The car was in the possesion of a used car lot where the owner and his family own several Turbo Regals. It appeared they had not altered anything at all on the car, and had put less than 200 miles on it. It's running in a great state of tune. The extender chip had the anti-theft sequence programmed in and was active when I sold it. Now the anti-theft is not active. I tried to reactivate by resetting the ECM and the other method of 5 quick pedal pumps just after turning key to off. Still no anti-theft. I then cracked open the ECM to look at the chip. I've had so many diff. chips over the years I couldn't remember what the extender looked like. Are there any distinct markings on an extender (from about 1.5 years ago) ? The car is running great, but it does it have to have an extender chip to work with the translator ? I have several other chips in the glove box and tried one that I thought might be it..no anti-theft again. The chip has a green dot on the back, and handwritten 93 street 36lb, but no mention of extender or ramchargers, etc.
