Ok guys im kinda stumped on the different results i've have gotten. Here is the story:
Put on the Razor's Alky kit ran the regular thrasher chip (thinks its a 91 or 92 oct, says 92 on chip, but not sure) up till 23-24lbs, no knock, 75 degree night. I popped that chip out that night and put in the extender chip i got in the mail, 23/21, 98octane/alky, fp 45 line off, let the car and chip connect, did some test runs. I got the car up to the same 23-24lbs, 0 knock, o2's 780's-790's, happy as ever.
Scroll forward to a few days later. Went to school around 5:30 am, cold as snow, around 48-50 degrees. The car with extender starts picking up knock at around 8-10lbs, o2's in the 750's, WOW. Had the cold weather for a couple days, couldnt shake the knock. Even later on in the day, when it got a little bit warmer i could get up to a little more boost, but would start to get knock eventually, no 23-24lbs anymore.
I was thinking possibly, fuel pump(dont know which one is in there), chip, injectors (36lbs), maf (stock), alky pump, etc. So tonight temp. 63 degrees, full tank of alky, popped the thrasher back in, alky knob at 12, got her up to 23-24 lbs, 820 top of third, 792 was the lowest o2 deep in 4th, maf pegged at 255, ran out of a 7/8th tank of alky in 30 mins.
Now i know the thrasher chip is obviously less timing, hence why i could only get 15lbs on pump gas. Is this an indication that the 23/21 chip is too much for california 91 octane now, when it was good enough when i first put that very same chip in a week prior in warmer night temps. I really dont know anything else other than what i hypothesized so far. Does cold air get that serious with a higher timing chip. Since the chip is adjustable, im sure i can change it up a bit.
Sorry for the novel but i need all the input i can get
