Does any one run their car just straight pipe on the street, i have a 3" single shot that stops in front of the rear axle but this past weekend my muffler came loose and fell off, so iv been driving it around with out it i love the way it sounds and i get more complements with it but have any of you had any problems doing this does it hurt performance any have you had any problems with getting pulled over?

I love the sound of the turbo whistle open exhaust.I used to run just the thdp just the downpipe and that was it the turbo has plenty of back pressure. It was loud but it was a head turner when you spooled the turbo. It will probably help performance if you can stand the drone.

haha.

Your turbo gives your engine all the back pressure it needs. Its just super annoying.

I did not say all it needs. duh. I don't see where a turbo needs exhaust except for quietness.Just my opinion only sorry.

It should be ok running that way, but I'm not sure why you'd want to. I guess it is just a matter of personal preference. :)

It will be interestin when you get pulled over .. and you WILL get pulled over!! just a matter of time. Thats when they start "LOOKING" the car over really close  :p

I was saying haha to the way he spelled exhaust. I didn't see anything wrong with what you wrote... I dunno if you took it that way:confused:  ... All I was saying is that sometimes having no backpressure on a N/A engine can actually hurt performance, but on a turbo motor the turbo is going to supply the restriction to create the b/p that the engine would need. After the turbo it doesn't really matter. I have ran my car with the dump pipe for a while and the drone drove me nuts. Really, if you are going from a 3 inch downpipe to 2 2 1/2 pipes thats a 3" to 5" transfer. And if you are running straight through mufflers.... A cutout really isn't going help that much on performance other than sound really cool. Just my .02

Yeah I see what ya saying.

Huh?

It will only flow as good as it's smallest point... that is my .02 cents.

So you are dragging along all that extra pipe to have a V8 look on your car.

Want a V8? Drop one in it!

its 3" all the way ends almost write underneath the passenger side seat.

Straighpipes are great but the police may bother you a bit for the noise.

Duallys look better and day of the week leave the single exhaust for the import boys
