My buddy has a 96 v6 camaro that he is going to take to the scrap yard pretty soon and he said I could have the radiator. Will this radiator be a drop in replacement or will I have to modify some parts/hoses to fit?

I have the proper i'm about to take out of a car. Less than 100 miles on it. only removing because I have a gigantic front mount and live in texas, so I've bought another.. if interested.. just shoot me a PM.

F body rad has a spot for tranny cooler I never used mine I ran external coolers for engine oil and tranny fluid

Does it have one for engine oil? I already have an external trans cooler

No, the f-body radiator does not have the oil cooler.
sure it does...i just did this swap. i'll post pics later.
but if you are going to put one in, just buy new as it cost me like $68 shipped...$100 the most at some other places.

Mine only had trans cooler, no oil cooler. If you go fbody, which is "cost effective" just keep an eye out. Had a few seep at the seam and even split. I finally decided to buy one last nice rad and went with alradco.

I just got done putting one in and duel fans it has a trans cooler no oil cooler I blocked off trans cause im going external and not running an oil cooler fits perfect if u want send me ur # and ill send u a pic

Found the answer. I re read the install on gnttype and they recommended not using the trans cooler for oil cooling

I ran the trans fluid through the F body radiator and added a external B&M oil cooler. You just have to make a splice with some barbed fittings, some hose and some clamps to route the trans lines..

is it a bad idea to use the cooler as an oil cooler? ....this is what i did...i've got external cooler for the trans.

That was my question. The radiator I bought just has A trans cooler in it. I already have an external trans cooler and was thinking of using the trans cooler in the f body radiator for the engine oil cooler. I re read gnttype's swap write up and they recommended not using it that way and just use an external oil cooler
Any problems with yours?

i used the cooler on the radiator as the oil cooler...no problems so far...i thought maybe the size of lines would have something to do with it but i checked the inside diameter before using it and they were the same though the stock oil lines look thicker from the outside.

Awesome. I feel better about using mine now

FWIW check out a 87 regal 307 radiator, It works just as well as the fbody. IIRC the flus are a lil wider.
