FAST system and alarm???

just a question i was going to go have a alrm system put on my car, maybe with remote start havent made a choice yet. and i was told that the alarms need to plug in to my ecu. but i dont want anything or anyone screwing with my FAST system...
my question is, is this true and if so is there a way to get a alarm thats self maintained and wont bother the FAST system in the car?

Most alarms just cut the starter solenoid, it should not do anything else related to the ecu.

so as far as lights and everything else it just splices into its current wiring>?
