87 gn w .030 109 block gn1 heads 70 mm phenom tb john graig t66 turbo 9.5 precision industries conv 3600 stall. max effort fue manegment w 83 lbs injectors

car runs great around 10 sec but i want it quick around town
has to much lag should i get a smaller turbo or conv .i heard i can run this turbo w a d5 converter and a bost controller

RESTALLED D5 and a t66 will spool up in say a few weeks. You should look at your tune/chip. RJC has a good boost controller out. I would go from there to try avoiding spending too much money.

66 and a 3600 stall shoulnt be impossible to spool up quickly. But, on the other hand, everybody has their own perspective on spool up characteristics.

Write to Steve Yaklin, or find his web site, and see what they say first. Lots of folks are running his stuff, without complaint.

For 10s you might think about a MAFless ME.

my problem is i want to make the car more responsive it has a lot of lag the turbo doesnt kick in until 4000rpm what can i do to make it more responsive in the low rpms do i have to get a converter with a lower stall speed or a smaller turbo i want to be able to floor it from a complete stop and have it peel out with out me having to power brake it to build up boost to take off .

what boost control method are you using? As stated above a RJC boost controller could make a world of difference depending on what your setup is now. I haev a single ball bearing T66 and w/ a RJC type controller it doesn't have any problem frying the tires w/ a stock D5 converter once it rolls out a few feet and the boost hits.

You may need a small block chevy to make that happen. Until the turbo spools, these are just big cars with a little motor. I have not seen a TR that spools the turbo instantly without powerbraking.

boost

well i now its not going to hit instantly i just it to have more power in the low rpms intead of having them at 4000 where i never use them

You will need to look into new wheels/tires, or at least a 17" DR if you get this to work. All you will get is a smoke show.

The combination you have isn't designed to readily do that.

To get the much off idle throttle response, at low RPM, you're just about looking at a stock turbo.

Until your in boost, it's still just a lil V6.

A small converter, large Throttle body, Front Mount, are all items to allow an engine to breath, and make HP at higher RPM levels. With any combo you're going to trade something to get something else.

Put a restalled D-5 and a TA-49 with your combo and a set of steet tires and you will be blowing the tires off the car just no top end. Or like XLR8 said sell your car and buy a civic and rev it and dump the clutch.:D
