faulty wipers

Listing this in hope that someone has already been down this road and can save me some wasted time and effort. My wipers are only working in the fast speed position with no response at all at low speed or delay mode. It also will not automatically return to the normal resting spot below the windshield. If this helps, the windshield fluid pump does work but does not engage the wiper as it should. Is this the switch in the stalk or is this internal to the wiper motor itself? Thanks to all that can share any thoughts.

Test from the manual involves checking the stalk function first ie: Wiper/Washer Motor Module Input Test.

Then if that is okay it's the module.

I suggest the factory paper manual or CD rom version.

Not sure where this diagram and test is posted on the internet.
