Just got my Feb 2013 Hot Rod magazine.
page 120 has a tech article on
"How strong is a standard Buick V6 block".
Good read, they say that TA performance and Duttweiler claim that there is no difference in overall strength of a turbo block vs a NA block!

There are some other good general engine building tips here too.

The turbo block and N/A block are the same, the only difference is the oil drain back hole for the turbo drain.

were they talking about the Buick blocks in general, or the 86-87 block specifically?
