I got an official looking email from eBay saying that a bid was cancelled on item # xxxxxx and to click on the item # (link) to view the reason for the bid cancellation. I did so and it brought up the standard looking sign in screen so I signed in. As I hit the send button, I saw the URL which was for some other web site and went for the X button at the top right of the screen. I do not know if it went thru so I had to change my password. I guess if I had not changed the password they would have gone after my credit card #. Eight years on eBay and this is the first time I fell for this. In the past when I saw the phony URL I would enter a phony name & password but a friend told me that they sell lists of people who respond so it is best to delete.
