hey guys so im pulling the motor out this weekend in the 87gn and i want to clean it up some by tying back a few wires im not using and getting rid of some things that im not using like cruise control, etc. and im also switching to a vacuum break setup. i just need to know about the canister on the right next to the air box im not really sure what its for and if its really necessary? and if so can i just move it? also the vacuum ball under that canister its not really in the way im just seeing if its necessary because if not that would eliminate the vacuum line running to it since i got rid of the cruise control. probably dumb questions but im just trying to get some ideas because i hate how clustered these cars are under the hood. thanks

That is your charcoal canister. There are tons of threads and debates about removing them. A lot of guys install them inside fender well.

Your gas tank vents to the charcoal canister and the computer commands the vapors to be sucked through vacuum line into engine when above idle. It can be removed if you have another way of venting gas tank but people have claimed that they burned their garage down because the tank vented to atmosphere and blew up their garage.

okay well i think it would be better just to move that under the fender well . what about the ball that is under the fender well i followed the lines and it split and one went to the cruise control but i deleted that and the other went to the block i know it is to store vacuum but not really sure if i need it now since i deleted the cruise control? thanks again
