Would I be better off going with fiberglass doors? I can't find too many rust free metal doors, but are the glass ones DOT approved for street use. With my luck, I'd get plowed by a truck or something and end up in a full body cast. Anyone have any ideas?

My buddy has them on his stage car. I would advise against it. They dont fit or look right even with proper prep work. They are race only pieces and not a smart idea on a street car.

I have to agree from the ones I have seen they are really a race only thing.

Now for my questions, and I was wanting to ask this but never got around to it. CAN you run some kind of moving window with fiberglass doors. Everyone I have seen has non movable lexan windows mounted on a outer 'frame' I would like to at least be able to roll down a window if I wanted (cruising/street racing) my car is basically a race only car or at least that is where it is going my stock doors are a special 2 piece model (an inner and an outer that are not connected at all , winters and 196,000 miles is hard on a car) and I really don't care if the fit and finish is not great.

Thanks for any replies.

cottons sells a very nice fiberglass door that allows u to use all stock door mechanisms including the windows...very nice piece. jack cotton has em on his orange car. i believe they are about 600 dollars. i was thinking about em until i realized that they have no inner crash bars...for a street car that is a big no no.

I could see fiberglass doors on the street if you have a rol bar in the car. As long as the side bar comes up high enough I wouldnt see a problem.
