Just guessing on the weight difference. I'd say 30#'s.

I've bought 2 from Tamraz, one for a Camaro that was a bolt on and it fit perfect. The other was for my Vega and a pin on. That one didn't fit so good.

Okay... Cal i'm dying to know, pm me a price shipped to 60104 chicagoland area. Since mine is scratched bad and had the "over the latch dimples" in can add this to my list for winter upgrades. Do you do bumpers as well?

After looking at a lot of cars with fiberglass hoods, I think Cal's is the nicest. Picked mine up in BG.

hood

Thanks Wes, I will most likely end up buying from Cal...Hows the Monte coming along?

I have seen both RichieHighPSI's & III's 87 gn fiberglass hoods from Cal installed on both cars which are mint. Hoods look great. You will be happy I am sure.

My car fired up today and was tucked away incase of a storm. Just waiting on this super busy guy named "CaRL Hartline" to get a tune on it hahaha

Just got done fitting Cal's fiberglass hood. Fit was very good, my body guy liked it compared to other fiberglass parts. Dropped it off at the painter, so no pics as of yet.

Stock steel hood = 51 lbs
Cal's fiberglass hood = 27 lbs
Weight savings = 24lbs

The fiberglass hood needs a hood spring to have 40lbs of force.

You cannot use the stock hood pistons. Yes, you can remove one and use one stock piston. But when you close the hood, it twists the hood.

or

Find yourself a worn out set of hood pistons

or

Buy fiberglass hood pistons from Kirban (not a fan of repackage parts and selling them as yours)

or

I went this route....
Spring Lift, part# SL2-40-1. Spring Lift is made by Attwood Corp, who is now Attwood Marine. Or you can by them from here: Lift Support Technologies 1/2 way down the page.
