I got new fillers to get painted on original paint car (86GN). What do I need to know about the paint to make sure the body shop paints them right and to insure the match to the original paint? Thanks Rick

Give them the paint codes off the car...trunk sticker numbers and the numbers on the cowl between the windshield and firewall on drivers side...make sure they use flex additive...if you're using OEM fillers...

Bumper Filler Prep.

I Recently Purchased New,oem Front Gm Fillers. They Come "bare" Rubber Without Primer. Ppg Has A Prep Package (3 Steps) Prior To Priming And Refinsihing. (i Do Not Have Pt # But Can Foward It To You If You Like) After Prep Completed, I Applied 2 Coats Of Dp 90 Black Epoxy Primer. After Flash For 20-30 Min,applied 2 Coats Of Basecoat, followed 25 Min Later With 3 Coats Of Clearcoat. My Friend Had A Local Shop Paint His New Fillers, without Prep Or Primering, they Lasted 1 Year And And Are Peeling... Make Sure The Shop You Choose Follows Paint Manufacture Directions, especially As These Parts Are Not Primed From The Factory.. Best Wishes.

All you should have to say to a shop is, "1987 Buick Regal Grand National, be sure to add the flexing agent because I don't want these things spider webbing on me."

So the gray is the color of the plastic not a primer? And is the 86 the same as 87?

Orgional Gm Frt Bumper Fillers

Rick, As Far As I Know (i've Seen 4 Or 5 New Sets Recenyly) They Are Bare Rubber And "not" Primed. Years Ago When I Purchased Fillers For My 1st Gn,they Came Primered. Hace Your Shop Verify If They Are Primered. Hope This Helps..

X2 on that flex agent. it will crack the first time it is pushed on that is a promise
