i was just wondering if any of you guys finaced your GNs? I know that is probally the only way i can get one with the prices so high on them. Do yall know the details on finacing such an old car? i know thats it really hard after a car is a certin age espeaclly being 20 years old now. Also, I'm 24 no acidents and my credit score is 761. Thanks for the Input, Randy

I used Capitol One. The rates were pretty good. You can have them authorize a dollar amount they will finance you for prior to the purchase and then you find the car. They didn't give me any problem when they found out it was a GN I was going to purchase.

So it was that easy? Did you mail them the title or how did that work? Thanks Randy.

It is that easy. You mail them the title after the transaction is complete. They mail the title back to you when the note is satisfied.

It isnt all that difficult. I was only 21years old when i purchased mine. I got a loan for 10 grand and when to my buddys house to pick up my car. At first when i asked for a loan for 10 gs for a 1987 Buick Regal they just laught, but i told them it was a special model, a Regal Limited Turbo addition... after i said that, they look it up, and said, no problem, the car is valued over 10 gs... They send me the check and i had My Buick.... good luck

If you don't mind me asking what kind of rate did you get and or how many months? Also what is you insurance on that thing being 21. I'm 24 not accidddents. Thanks

Capital One also. Intrest rate depends on credit rating. I pay $88 a month for 9 months full coverage but I am also 40 years old.

Went online to capitalone's site, filled out the app, they preapproved me for up to 25K and sent me their "blank check" I found one I liked in VA sent him the form to fill out (vin # lien holder etc) sent that to cap one they "approved" it and made the check active, drove to VA and got my car and title. Sent that to Cap one and started making payments.

My credit union is going to refinance it (2.5% less APR!) just need to go do it (and make sure Cap One has the new Alabama title on hand now as that takes a good 5-8 weeks which should be about now really! CU said they'd go up to like 22K on an 87 GN in really nice shape (mine is).

It was very little hassle, the main hassle was waiting on the lienholder of the car to give me the title (they wanted that check from Cap One to clear first!).

I used my credit union. I financed $17K and they just checked their book to make sure the car was worth it. Pain free.

hmmm i wonder what my credit union would say. i just refinaced my 06 tundra with them two weeks ago. It sucks that if i do get one it will be hard cause i'll have to pay to go back to the states(2 tickets round trip and take leave) Find the car that i want/seller/pick it up and they would have to understand my situation. Then pay to have the car shipped over here and then shipped back to the states after my tour is over. Ahh BUt i want One! The AutoBahn would be musch funner than ridind in my tundra.

Yea can be a pain. Count on at least $1000 to ship to Germany. Believe me I have checked! If you are going to be in Germany a while, then it will be worth it. My neighbor owns an International shipping company. I will check with him also. Call me at 337-4164.

I pay $85 a month for 12 months, plus my 4WD truck, and my renters, insurance.... USAA rocks...

cool thanks, I want to fill out the info on the site but i don't want them to run my credit for the heck of it ya know.

I used my local federal credit union. They use NADA values. They cut me a check for 12k and I was on my way.
