After almost a month of sitting in my driveway, i finally got the parts and time to finish putting in my new F-Body aluminum radiator and Ramchargers dual fans. My car used to run about 200-220 on a hot long drive, and the AC would blow cold only sometimes. After the install, my car just cycles between about 160 and 170, no matter how long or hard I drive it, A/C blasting, even after idling for an hour. Even better, my oil pressure is up (about 20 psi hot in drive, up from about 10-15). All in all, worth every penny!! If anyone is looking for a big improvement to their cooling system, my advice is to do this setup (though I think I got one of the last sets of ramchargers fans, as I believe they're out of business now). Now that I've got my cars cooling and fueling systems taken care of, I don't feel guilty about looking at some of my frist real performance mods (exhaust, injectors, etc etc). I couldn't ahve done this without the help from guys ehre, so thanks to all who helped me out!

glad to hear it. I also did the f-body alum. rad. and dual electric fans out of a chrysler. With the stock cooling system my car would run anywhere from 190-220  depending on the weather. Now with the rad/fans/thermo it runs between 165-170 all day. I definately recomend these mods to everyone.

Excellent job. I did the conversion last summer and the results are the same with the mechanical fan while driving. The temp would go up to 195 in stop and go traffic at 95 degres outside temp. Alot better than 225 degress. Cooler wheather-nothing above 162degrees-Brad

hey glad to hear ur accomplishments i was wonderin if u guys have any pics of ur finished setup work? and are u running the stock ecm or the 86/87 ecm?

turbobooster- i may be able to get some pics. I have the 86/87 ecm but it doesnt control the fans. I have a toggle switch to turn the fans on/off, i did that so i can be in control of when the fans come on and off.

If i can remember to, I can snap some pics of the finished product. The install itself was pretty easy. The hrdest part was making up brackets to attach the fans, and that wasnt particularly hard. And yes, my ECM (upgraded to 86/87) controls the fans, thansk to casper's electronics. I have their electric fan relay harness that signals a dual relay setup from them to turn on the fans.

Full time fans

I used the Racetronix fan harness hooked up to my 86/87 ECM and the fans just run all the time. As soon as the key gets turned to run they come on and stay on until I turn the car off.

I've been wondering if I goofed up somewhere in the hooking up the harness to the ECM, but checked twice and seems to be where it's suppose to go.
