Recently i purchased a 68 firebird 350 HO
i noticed the car didnt have the lovure in the quarter panels behind the doors
my question is
did they ever build a model without the lovures
or is it as i suspect and someone replaced the quarters with camaro quarters
anyone have any info on this?

I'm pretty sure they ALL had louvres, part of the styling enticement.
Maybe yours is a one off? Kinda doubt it.

all 67-69 firebirds had the lovurs in the rear qtrs. hate to say it but some damn chebby lover got there hands on it.

yea kind of figured that as well
will be cutting those off and installing the proper ones for sure

I have a pontiac performance magazine with a 350 ho car on the cover. It has louvers. Congrats on the find though!

They were bad for rusting out there.

I had seen the metal cut out and just sheet put back in there on many of them.

Remember back then it was just another car, well sorta.

Cool, Now just change the front end and rear panel, put some Camaro emblems on it and double it's value. (Flame suit on )

Yep someone put camaro quarters on it. Good luck with her though, I have a 68 400 firebird and wouldn't trade it for a cookie cutter camaro anyday ! People walk by the camaros at car shows to see mine just because it is NOT a camaro. Sometimes being diffrent is a good thing lol ! Daniel Ray

I won't even look at a camaro unless it's a nicely modded 2nd or 3rd gen camaro, or evena stock original. I'll take a nice hardtop or convertible IROC any day over a 4th or 1st gen. I love the boxy line styling of them! I don't even look at them half the time. I sneer at mustangs because I see so many of those turds also. I had a line on a 1st gen trans am once, wish I would have chased it down...oh well.
