I did some searching, but didnt find anything. What should be my first mod? I just got a 84 GN with a 4.1 in it. I was thinking about putting an intercooler on it first?

Thanks
Jeremy

The 4.1 came in the car. I dont have any other mods other then the 4.1. The car is stock as far as I know.

Well I relized the 4.1 was a mod:p You have a couple of options you can do for intercooling a hot air. Some guys have gone with the Ford Front Mount, but you have to hack the front end up a lot.

And there is always the spearco front mount kit made for the hot air's. There are pics of mine in my sig. Most of the peps will tell ya to start with the fuel system (bigger fuel pump, hot wire kit, fuel press. regulator) and get a K&N cone filter at least and maybe some cat back exhaust. A aftermarket chip. Get rid of the cat if you can. Adjustable wastegate rod!!! A scan tool is a must or at least a knock sensor. You might also want some gauges to monitor the beast. I am by far no pro at this stuff, just trying to throw ideas at you. Hopefully some of the pros will jump in here for ya!

First how do you know its a 4.1? If it is then everything else is stock. Then I would get a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. A walbro 340 fuel pump. Change the ecm to an 87 and get a custom burnt chip for the bigger displacement. Electric fan.
It really boils down to how much you want to spend. The possiblities are endless.

where do i get a walpro 340 fuel pump and hot wire ? oh and n=another importanat question i realy need help cuz im new to the turbo thing how do i hook up my new auto meter turbo gauge to my car what wires do i look for need serious help wanna put in my new gauge for more accuracy thanx

hey thanx for that website really helpful but on the isatllin boost gauge there no intsruction on the wiring or where too hook it up at it was the same website for fuel pump? i could really use the help instructions for my boost gauge thanx

hey quick 85 thanx alot for that step by step it really breaks it down for me seems ez to do if done properly but my only problem is that i cant find the damn metal vacumm hose or whatevr hose i gotta put the T in behinf the throttle body i went to check it but nothing maybe if u can tell me what to look for or where exactly its at or any pics pointin it out would be so helpful please any tips would reeally help me out i gotta install my gauae soon thanx alot anyone

OK I think I figured it out;) Mine was already hook up when I got the car. So i dont know how to do it. So I took a look at mine and the directions, mine doesnt seem to be hooked up the same as the directions, but take a look at this picture of mine:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/81565168/81565787sBHskG

Now can you see the vacumm block and on the back side of the block the vacumm port all the way to the right side(closest to you going towards the firewall) that one has a tee in it.

If you look closely you can see my boost gauge line running over the white plastic line going towards the passenger fender......my boost gauge line is running over to the passenger fender and then going to a black plastic line which then runs right back to the tee in that vacumm port of the vacumm block(i hope this is making sense to you, cause it aint to me) :( so i dont understand why my boost gauge doesnt run right to that vacumm port

Also go out to your car and take a look at the passenger side fender wall...........there should be a cylinderical black plastic canister thing (is it bolted down with a screw) that just sits there up by the ac stuff..........it has a vacumm line going to it............mine wasnt hooked up when i got the car so i took it out.............i think what the person did is ran the boost gauge line to the line that goes to the black POS canister thing and then delete the use of the canister and got a boost reading off that line which runs all the way back to the last vacumm block port on the firewall side.

Now I know my post is 1 FFFFed Up post, but I hope it helps with some ideas..........just trying to help.....Nick

hey quick thankls for the pic but im still clueless of what to do and what line it is i mean i dont see anything hose i can cut to put the T in behind the throttle body and in ur pic i cant see the wire u talkin about maybe u have a beter close up pic of the line hose and of how u have it done it u do plase post pic or anyone else that can tell me how to hook up my gauge for boost i really do apprecitae thanx

OK man................my post sux ass............sorry............I dont think mine is hooked up exactly right anyways, so you probably better off starting a new thread asking how to hook up a boost gauge.......no one is looking in this thread anymore it seems.....

I would think as long as you can tee into a vacumm hose that is caring boost you would be alright and your boost gauge would read..........such as the adjustable wastegate, adjustable fuel press. regulator, they both run off of boost........but I am not sure man...

Best advice start a new thread and get some guys that have done a boost gauge install to reply to ya......

Do be afraid to start threads for the littlest thing......everyone is here to help you out and to get your help when you can give it........sorry I cant help ya with this.

:( Nick
