VERY good information, guys. It makes sense, and I appreciate it. It's time for alky and 20 pounds of boost, I believe. This car isn't a daily driver, so I'm not too concerned about that. I do occasionaly drive it on long trips, 250 miles one way. How do you deal with alky injection on a long trip like that?

The injection is based on the MAP. No boost no injection. Most have injection starting about 8 lbs and progressively increasing the amount.

In other words, if you don't mash the loud pedal all the time you'll be fine, right?

Well, that's a difficult task but yes.

FWIW with ALKY on a stock unopened motor, I could run 24-25lbs of boost with NO KNOCK in the HOT Florida sun.

Just adjusted the rod four complete turns. I took her out and got fifteen pounds of boost. My 02mv were 804 on one pass, and 820 on another. The retard was 0.7. I'll give her another four and see if it sits on on 17.

Perhaps you should try ONLY 2 more turns, see how it does at 16 'ish, since you showed some retard at 15. Hopefully it is only @ 1-2 or 2-3 shift point(s)--what speed did you register the 0.7 retard?
