Just picked up an 87 T and it has what appears to be an aftermarket sunroof (astroroof/moonroof, whatever) It has a small black swith between the two visors (not an ASC roof btw) It is power and works very well, however, it leaks hurrendously. It rained pretty hard last night and I got in this morning to check for any water, and nothing at all inside the car, bone dry. However, I pulled out of my driveway and as soon as i hit the brakes to stop, water came splashing down all over the interior, I mean everywhere, I was soaked. I noticed that there are 4 small drains that go through the car and drain underneath. I sprayed compressed air through them, they were all clear. If anyone has any experience with these roofs, please let me know what I can do to prevent this from happening again. and btw, there is no rust under the roof, and the car was outside before I got it. I made sure to check that before I bought it. How is that possible, I would think that if it were holding water, the thing would be rusted to nothing by now.

Can you remove the headliner?

How is the seal? If the seal is good, you probably need to adjust the glass to fit snug against the roof. If it is snug, are the 4 drain hoses may be dry rotted or disconnected from the plastic nipples off of the sunroof assembly casing.

Another idea is to park the car inside.;)

There Are Various Different Moon Roof Company's. Do You Have Any Idea What Make The Assy Is? Agree With The Last Post. The Headliner Needs To Come Out And Remove The Assembly. Most Moon Roofs Have A Gutter Type System, the Weatherstrip Only Holds Back Most Of The Water, the Water That Passes By The Outer Weatherstrip Goes Into The "gutter" Than Drains Out One Of The 4 Drain Hoses. It's Possible The Sunroof Frame Gutter Or Troff(so To Speak) May Be Rusted Or Have A Seam Leaking. But Thinking Of What You Described, the Water Is Not Draining Out Properly.. When You Remove The Assembly, make Sure You Have Help,my Gm Astro Roof Assembly Is Yery Heavy, hard To Handle Alone. Good Luck With This, wish I Could Be More Help

If the drains for the sunroof drain toward the front of the vehicle and you were parked uphill there may not be enough slope to drain properly. Or as others have said there could be a kinked or broken drain line.

[are the 4 drain hoses may be dry rotted or disconnected from the plastic nipples off of the sunroof assembly casing.
