my cheapass pulled it of
we had a great time on a super low budget :biggrin:
first half of the vacation was down in Miami
the Wife found a very good hotel for a great price. The hotel included breakfast and had a swimming pool.
we went to the pool every day then went on with our day-had to beat the dam rain
visited some friends and family at the Miami Zoo
, went to Ripley's Believe It or Not down in Key west.
In Key west it just happen to be Lobster fest and that was great- street music and cooking it was super cool.
the rest of the days we hung out with my brother in law and the rest of the family - The reason for the trip in the first place.
the second half of the trip was also very good.
We started heading North to West Palm Beach and crashed at an uncles house - he and his wife whir great and made us feel at home plus he has a large pool - and being from NY any place with access to a pool is a GREAT place. During the day we BBO some chicken and steaks and night after the kids went to bed we would have a few adult beverages
we then headed to Orlando and went to Magic Kingdom then headed home.

The age of your children may help decide which park to go to. If they are > 8, Disney is a must. Much older than that - Universal may be a better bet. They have the new Harry Potter attraction. You can get discounts from AAA on some tickets. Busch Gardens is cool too, plus you have the great gulf beaches not too far away. There's a water park right by Busch Gardens too, Adventure Island.
Not sure if a Florida resident discount will work, I'm pretty sure you need to show ID at the park to use them.
