How does one determine what flash stall you have on a converter if you know nothing about what kind of converter you have , all I know is I can dead stall it easy to 2850 rpm at 0 boost ? This is TB 400 converter . It looks to be about 9.5 inch if that matters . what would be a true way to know what I have got without pulling it out and taking it apart .

Just look at the rpm on the 2-3 shift. Whatever it drops to is flash stall assuming no wheel spin

That flash rpm will also change with the amount of boost you run. More boost should raise flash/stall rpm. If you raise boost and the flash rpm does not change, its a good indication that the extra boost isn't making more power. This points at common issues such as bad tuning, backpressure and weak valvesprings.
