I just had my TE44 rebuilt because of blown seals. Before I had it done it would flutter at about 15lbs. and up.Even after the rebuild it is still doing it.Is this an exhaust leak causing this or could it be the puck not sealing in the downpipe?Has anyone ever had this problem? It doesn't pop or spit or anything like that, you can just here it fluttering and losing boost. It doesn't even show up on the scanmaster. There is no knock at all.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Mine will flutter back and forth from like 11# to 15# if the actuator arm is too loose when the flap is closed/at rest.

Does it "flutter" at part throttle or WOT? Mine will somtimes flutter/surge when I am at 1/2 throttle and bost is around 15# or so.

Thanks

You know, since you said that I thought of something. The car came with a stock intercooler when I bought it and I haven't got a bigger one yet.It will be here in a few weeks.I bet it's having a hard time pushing the air through it and is causing it to flutter. It would kinda be like running half throttle at 15lbs.It can't get the air through the throttle body.Dayum,I just answered my own question. Thanks for the info. guys.BTW does thunder fab. have a website?

mine also had it at half throttle starting at around 12to 15, but only had it when i have over 15+ boost basictly when i had it on race trim. I also don't think its the intercooler. because i had the dut neck on it. all together the 44 is a darn good all around turbo!:D

Mine flutters too at about 15psi,I love this turbo hope to be in the high 11's this fall with my current combo:D :D

Yes, if its fluttering at part throttle its probably because the acuator arm is too loose, needs to have a little bit of tension on it at rest and not be loose.
Yes it will boost fine at full throttle, and no its not the IC, notice the turbo outlet is as small as the IC inlet/outlet.
