For Guys doing or whom have done the ECM swap

I got the list of cars that will have the correct ECM to pull from in the yards. My question is why only 1986 olds and buicks? Wouldn't and '87 olds or buick have the same computer? Anyone know?

An 87 t ecm is what I have not sure where you found it saying only 86??? I know the 87 Ecm from a Gn or T will work.

the ecm's that RedRegalT sells in the parts board are out of an 87

so the ecm's shoudl all be universal,

He's talking about pulling one from a 3.8 fwd car. Pre 86 had a distributor. Even if U find a fwd 3.8 86 olds or buick its not a guarntee............its hit and miss. Have to check the service # , and don't ask me how the same car with the same engine the same year can have diffrent computers.............I can't figure that out either

Just get one of Red's we did and it works great, unless you are doing something different.
