I currently have a 3000 stall and running a te-44 turbo and it runs great is this turbo a real upgrade for me

Not really. With that converter, you could go bigger. What is your rpm @ 0-1psi on the brakes?

That's plenty for a bigger turbo than this, but this one will boost QUICKLY with that TC.
