I've got a once used Mac Mentor (compare to Genisys) OBD diagnostic computer.

It's literally in all of its original packing, box, case with all cables, software (version 2.0 - which includes all thirdgens including TTA).

I used it on my TTA one time to track down a loose connection on a relay. Worked great.

It's Mac's highest end portable diagnostic. Any mechanics will know more about it then I do. I have limited use for it as I have direct familial access to even more advanced diagnostics with a trained user!!

If an offer is right, I'll let it go. There doesn't seem to be much used traffic in these as wrench guys just hold onto them.

I'll consider reasonable offers. Posting it here before I shoot it onto the wider turbobuick forum or the thirdgen site where there are more people I don't know!

gee...thanks for the insight. I know shoppers like to know a price but this forum, as far as I know, doesn't prohibit postings without an advertised price. I don't sell things for a living or even regularly and was just looking to maybe clean this nice piece out of my garage to someone who could use it.

Frankly, I've dealt with lots of folks on here in a very cordial and friendly manner and if one of them was interested, I wouldn't turn down a reasonable offer - no matter what "market" was. But I also wasn't going to throw a price out below market that someone would snap up and throw on ebay - or one at or above market and scare away one of the many nice folks I've met here.

Responses like yours will land this on ebay instead - so I guess you've succeeded. I expected such a response on some of the other boards.

The point is, at least from my perspective, is that I really don't like putting a price on someone else's property.

"Frankly", I really wouldn't have any idea what your item is worth anyway. It sounds like a very nice tool. Since I don't know it's value, I could say, "wow, I'd offer you $100 bucks." In some cases, that could follow with a bunch of people calling me a 'low-baller', or worse. That's why so many forums have rules stating that you have to list a price. It makes sense.

No worries - maybe a pm would have been better.

In any event - if you go to the Mac site you'll see that the latest one (v 3.0) sells for over $3,000.00. You'll see used up older ones for $350-through the hundreds on Craigslist, etc. and Ebay - it's made by OTC and it's the same as their Genisis.

They're seldom around used b/c mechanics use them every day as their bread and butter. This version was new in 06 and, if my memory is right, it is programmed for pre-05 vehicles (I can boot it up and check obviously).

My dilemma is that for a few hundred bucks, I'll just hold it but I also wouldn't mind someone using it if I can parlay a little cash into other things.

I honestly have it pegged at about a grand +/- since it is new.
