What is the purpose of the small hole in the factory servo piston? Maybe some detail. Thanks.

its covered in the manual lee.gm believes the large piston is slow to react to pressure because of its size so it sends oil to the inner piston thru the little hole to start to apply it before the big piston is charged and moves.i dont know if this is true however.
