that's another one of those "cars" i will make note to myself to STAY AWAY from:eek:

i'm sorry but that is insane for a 4 banger...i wonder how much $$$ he put into that thing...probably a hundred grand...that turbo is HUGE

i am banned from Nasioc...... those guys has some very deep seated issues over there!

you make one or 2 posts about your stupid roomate who blew a HG and cant figure out why.... (20psi). they banned me for that..... pricks

Don't feel bad, Reaper, I did the same thing about a week age. My first banning from a site. One of the mods seemed to be beating up on me for no reason for not posting a early warning regarding a picture even though she was not nude, didn't show nips either. He opened his statement about warnings by calling me a retard. I politely told him that he should learn to use good word usage, and to be able to moderate without any family name calling. A couple of days later he tried rubbing my nose in sh"t, and I posted a pic similiar without warning in their babes section. No more site enterance. Most of teh guys seemed pretty cool other than that muderator.

did i read the dyno #'s correctly? all that and only 450 hp??? wonder how much it cost. not my cup of tea.

cost a lot, but the HP is on pump gas if I read it right (19 psi?)

these things will be the GN's of the 2000's...........small motor, goes fast

that is a pretty sweet setup..... but I'm sure he has $40K+ in it.... and not knowing whether the transmission will hold would frighten me. It is beautiful fab work and the car should rip when finished and tuned properly/broken in.

They should put a built TA aluminum motor with T-76 turbo and Audi RS6 transaxle, Viper/Vette Dana 44 rear in the car to give it some real nuts and reliability.......

There is a local guy with a new EVO running a large BB turbo, Autotronics fuel management, NOS, upgraded cams, and I believe stock heads/intake and ported TB. He has gone 10.60's@122mph or so and spun it to 8500rpm (past the traps in 4th). Shows you the strength of the DSM shortblock. He apparantly has been thru 4 transaxles....... not promising when you need to invest $5K+ into your tranny and still wonder if it'll last.

Only? Comon. The WRX is comparable to a TR stock. Yes, it is more $$$ than a TR, but a TR is an OLD CAR! Lovely, but old.
I have also found since the WRX crowd are not that into drag racing, most of thier ET's are on pump gas. A couple grand to run 12's on 93 octane, and take corners that will blast the snot outa yer nose....priceless!

True, but how much did I sepnd on my TR tranny? 2K for a race prep, with 3800 stall. Refresh every season, and slushy around town. I guess it comes down to how streetable, and how often you go to the track?

BT:confused:

FWIW & IMHO:
I have heard rumors that the WRX'S are notorious for eating up 1st gear under repeated hard acceleration usage.

that "hard usage" means 6K+ drop clutch launches

the STI's are much tougher

450 hp will tear up most anything eventually

try power shifting an SVO Mudstain a few times and see what you are buying:)

Hey, I love the TR's. If I could go in my wayback machine and lease one, I would. Right now, it was a tossup between the WRX and SRT-4 mostly due to price. Thereis one problem with the SRT-4. Its a Chrysler....

So, I must admit, I have a blast driving the WRX. I tangled with a silver Camaro SS this morning. He was in an auto-4 SS. He pulls me pretty hard drom 65 up to about 85. He let off a little, i was about 4 cars behind. From 85 to 125 he only pulled a car on me. He gave me a thumbsup and we slowed back down for traffic.

Pretty cool.

I always pull away slow and roll into the throttle. Trying to get all 4 to spin would be tranny suicide for sure....

Its a neat little car, no where near as fast as my 86 TR was, but fun, great on gas (beating on it, it averages 20!), and the all-wheel drive was awesome in the snow....

Anyway, I saw that site - that guy spent an insane amount of money on that setup. NOT something I would do, but to each his own.... I like seeing people that push the envelope in any car. Remember that guy with the Ford Granada with the 460 twin turbo? That was neat too....

As long as its not my wallet.
