Ok, I am looking to shed some more weight off my T Top GN.
I recently came across the idea of cutting out the steel support in the front and rear bumpers and just leaving the steel mounting plate and a few bolt holes to connect to the bumper.
Sounds like the cheapest and lightest way to go. I do not want to go fiber bumpers as I already have a paint job and am not a big fan of those for the street even though this car only see's 3k a year now.
I am aware of the Canadian braces which are really just the mounting brackets for the front bumper.
Where there ones for the rear?
I recently just found out about the aluminum braces for both the front and the rear. But those seem too expensive and there is not a huge enough amount of weight loss.
Any one do the cutting stock braces mod?
How hard was it?
Any pics?
I am good with the sawsaw as my Talon got a lickin after the FMIC went in.
It sounds as if I can drop off over 50lbs with cutting the steel ones which sounds good to me.
