Did you guys just fill the holes on the stock steel bumper and smooth it all out? Or do fiberglass bumers come w/o holes/rubber thingy? Thanks.

fiberglass bumpers are already smooth
some of us have smoothed the original ones though.

I personally would NOT use glass bumpers on the street.

I wanted smooth bumpers for my GN, and didn't want to pay for the fiberglass ones. I welded up all of the holes in the original steel covers. Be warned: that's a lot of holes! I also cut the steel bumper supports down to just a stub about 8" long on each side.

I cut the heads off of two of the original carriage bolts and welded them flush with the surface of the bumper, one on each side corresponding to the hole in the bumper support. It bolts on now with these and a couple of the lower bolt holes on the bottom edge of the bumper.

This is low buck (if you can do it yourself) and gets you within a few pounds of the fiberglass bumper weight. It probably wouldn't hold up any better in a crash than the fiberglass ones with the bumper support gone, either. :o
