Finally, it worked. Thanks Dale! I know it's dirty but I gave up on keeping it clean. I'm going to repaint everything as soon as I pull the heads again for the ported ones.

sorry...but it didn't work for me....It took me to a page that had a bunch of groupings in it, but there were no pics in the groupings!!!

Again

I got the pic off the first one it works, i even printed some of them.

Real nice set up , you did a great job.

Cool, after seeing the pics I wanted to say that I really like the job you did on this engine. The plumbing looks great and I like the transition into the rear of the intake. That is a very nice looking setup for the hotair motor. It kind of make me wish I had taken the "less paved" direction with my project.

IC

cool,

it looks GREAT! who bent the piping? did they used a mandrel bender? what kind of pipe did u use?? thanks !

JOHN

just FYI... summit and places like that DO sell mandrel bends.. I dont know if thats what he used, but they could very well just be 'shelf bought' mandrel bent pipe..

another route would be to use all straight metal pipes and various angled rubber clamps from a diesel shop..

either way it looks good man.

Thanks for the positive responses. I slapped the thing back together the night before when Dale said he was coming. I was tearing it apart for headgaskets. If you notice a lot of things are missing bolts. :) The plumbing is a 3" mandrel bent exhaust tail pipe section from a muffler shop. It cost $30. Unfortunately it only came with one 90 degree bend so I had to buy two for a total of $60 and a lot of left over pipe. All I did is cut it in the right places and it came together very easily. I also don't have cruise control or the windshield washer reservior or the plumbing would be a lot more difficult.

The pictures also show the modified Lee Thompson DP that now fits with the KB headers.

herb, when you get the site that is linked, go to the recreation section, theres 6 pictures there.

TTT for Checkmate. I think the only one that works now is the one I posted as an image in black and white. I can e-mail you more pictures if you want them.

OK. I've been on this site for a while and mostly stayed in the Hawaii section. I've been tooling with the Idea of using the powerstroke intercooler, but the confusion begins at plumbing to the manifold. I know the adapter goes in to the manifold, so what holds the hoses/piping from blow-out. Also, how about an '86-87 manifold? how would that work?( im asking because theres one on the shelf) BTW, thats very clean looking. Great work! can the AC go back in? it looks kinda tight. Thanks
-Rob

PS can you e-mail me pics? TIA

I can e-mail you pictures tomorrow when I get to my parents' computer (webtv sucks).

For the adaptor to the manifold, you can buy the Spearco one for about $50. It goes in place of the stock adaptor and uses the bolt holes in the back of the manifold that hold the turbo down on the stock setup.

I got a 3" aluminum elbow from a scrap yard and welded it in when the intake was off. You'll see it in the pictures tomorrow.
