Ok the motor is back together and i found a peice that i didn't put in , it go's on the crank in the middle of the crank gear and the damper it looks like a round disc like a bowl shape . What is this i put a bigger timing chain on from comp cams i'll have to pull the frount cover to get it back in, what does this disc do and do i really need it i've never seen one before in a motor. One more i cant get the rope seal in the cover real good is there a easy way to do this.

thanks guys, your not good tell you forget things;)

It's an oil slinger to help lube the timing chain. It's probably pretty important. :) I've forgetten it before, luckily before I got the whole motor together.

ROPE SEALS SUCK ....CHECK THE PARTS STORES TERE IS A REGULAR SEAL (RUBBER) THAT REPLACES THE ROPE NOW BUT IT HAS TO BE PUT IN FROM THE INSIDE SO GUESS YOU HAVE TO PULL THE COVER BACK OFF SO PUT THE OIL SLINGER BACK IN WHILE YOUR AT IT..:(

Thanks guys, i'll get the rubber seal and put it back in .

take care,
