Wasn't sure where to post this but I thought I'd share I was reading around today on a bunch of diffrint forms and I came across a couple of monte forms and seems there a bit of jealousy towards the turbo buicks I found this post kinda funny so I thought I'd share

Yes, i agree.. and Richard Clark talks about this in the "BLACK AIR" Documentary .. I Laugh every single time I hear him say that. I've owned my Monte SS since new & NEVER had it confused for a Grand National. I've only had my We4 since January and no one really notices it in the area that I work & live and i'm actually happy about that. The only couple of comments I got about my Buick is if it's a GN clone and what motor does it have ! LOL .

Many people seem to know just enough to be dangerous. They "know" that the "Black Buicks" were a rare car with a turbo. They don't seem to know a GN and a GNX are different cars. (they think every GN is the rare GNX) Can't tell you how many times people ask me if this is a "Real GN" Not knowing that most are real GN's. Just not Real GNX's.
A friend of a friend asked if he could drive it, I said emm, NO! But I'll take you for a ride in it. So I bought the boost up at around 40mph, let off the brakes and the rear tires went up in smoke while we were doing 40, 45, and he says "Holy Shi!!. As the rear slowly slithered left and right as long as I kept my foot in it, leaving 2 looonnnggg # 11's on the street.
Then says, "I'd kill myself in this" I said, "That's why I didn't let you drive it".

LOL! ++++ you just brought me back to 87' when my Neighbor let my Dad & I take his Brand new White T out for a spin. yeah that's right, the neighbor didn't come along LOL.. i just remember i told my dad to floor it off the line when the light changed and it rolled about 20ft and then all of a sudden Holy Shi$%%t the car was screeching going sideways and he let off right away LOL.. He didn't expect that but i did ! He saw first hand how Buick came along way from the Carb'd Turbo 79 Sportcoupe we still had at the time!

yeah that poster is backwards.....I like the Monte's of course they are very close looking but i have seen more Monte's swapped with a turbo 6 than the other way around.

That's what i was thinking and well I know 2 people with montes and not one of them has ever been asked if its a gn me on the other hand every time I take my gn out seems some one is telling me how nice my monte is lol

There was a car that looked just like a GN at a Car show i went to last week. It did have a huge cowl induction hood and mini tubed. I thought it looked cool BUT I refuse to call it a GN since taking a closer look had an typical Air cleaner sitting under that Hood! Just ain't right!
