Glad to hear it was a simple goof Al.

THE OLDS FORUM HAS ALOT OF [RICHARDS] THAT THINK THEIR CHIT DONT STINK . AT THE LAST HURST OLDS MEETING IN INDY I TOOK MY 79 HURST AND MY BUICK TO DRIVE ON THE TRACK AT INDY .AND WAS TOLD I COULDNT EVEN GET PICS OF THE BUICK ON THE BRICKS .THEY ARE SCARED OF REALLY FAST CARS .SO I JUST SPANKED THEM AT DRAGSTRIP .AND DROPED MY MEMBERSHIP TO THE HURST OLDS CLUB .. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I JUMP ON TO TELL THEM WHERE TO PLACE THE LIGHTNING RODS & TO REMIND THEM I BEATEM WITH MY BUICK V6

I remember one thread on olds power where a kid in tech school started playing around with valve anges for more flow in the heads. They busted his chops so many times I'm suprised he ever came back on, but he did. He relocated the valves just enough to give almost 50 cfm more flow to the heads and they still kept busting his chops. He had flow charts and everything and they were still shouting BS. Talk about a bunch of ignorant asses.

Ya that Yellow Bullet is good for a laugh,or porn what ever you like I guess:eek:I like the input here, good hobby guys shareing car stuff;) Isn't that what we all got into this hobby for:rolleyes: As my Grandpa use to say "it takes all kinds of people to make a world" some we can just do without:biggrin:

I'm on the one of the cobaltSS forums and the turbododge site and its also made up of mostly younger guys. Sometimes some of the stuff you read makes you shake your head. I find for sites that attact younger owners its better to find local club sites. Its nicer having the smaller groups and having people you've actually met in person a few times.

However large sites are also helpful cause just about anything that will ever happen to your car has happened at least once to someone else. Gotta love massive databases.

WHy do most of the drifty kids hang the stuffed animals from their back bumper

That's a good question. I would ask it on that forum but I've been banned twice so far, I've been flying below the radar for awhile. I try not to get baited in by people on that site, their just plain retarded sometimes.

Yeah well

and when's the last time you've had olds guys asking to run their naturally aspirated olds v-8's at a turbo buick class event, and then going around on forums whining about it? Clubs/groups have to set a precedent, or the next time they try to get on the indy track they'll have 80 people with cars having nothing to do with the club asking to be allowed out.

I guess it's easier to come on the forums and whine about everybody else being the "richard," rather than respect the rules/decisions of a club...

you just prove the whole point of this tread .. I was asked to bring my buick buy the club president ,&kevin ,jeff, judy, all high ranking members at hurst olds club of america .but a couple off members had a problem with my buick being there.so to make one or two guys happy i couldnt get pics.stupid just stupid. Every year at the midwest buick nationals i race alot of cars that arent buicks .i guess some only play nicely with others . You must be one of the guys i smoked at i.r.p. With my buick . I was a member for over 19 years but not anymore . I respect all the rules everywhere i go .so you know what to do with your lightning rods right .. Anyone here bother you about your olds in your sig .. Would be my point !!!

actually, the point of this thread was "FORUMS and attitudes", so maybe griping about national meets wasn't the point.

...and for the record, no I haven't raced you, maybe you need to start smoking something else to calm down. The H/OCA meets are about the most laid back national meets I have ever attended for any brand.

I'm not denying that some of the Olds race forums get downright ugly...

Don't even try to visit the olds forums. The guys have an attitude and most of the time it aint a good one. I won't post what I really thnk of them because your thread would be deleted for language.
which board? I been at Oldspower since day 1 and its pretty good for the most part. i have only gone on Realoldspower like 5 times

it has nothing to do with ur car being faster..its has everything to do with it not being an olds. the HOCA has a deal with indy for that event and they are covering HOCA members and their Hursts, not every other car they own. because if they let you in with ur buick where does it stop? lil billy joe might want to bring his 91 cavalier on the brick.. have a little respect.

"going fast with class" for the most part i find turbo buick guys to be awesome, because like the HOCA they are a niche group but its the ones who have this arrogance about their cars that i can do without.
i'm actually mad the HOCA isnt more strict. there is one car in particular, a pretty well known car that has no business being part of the HOCA because its really a 442... hurstguy you know what car i am talking about.. the whole sotry about that car and its various stages of modification are contrived.

I've been to the BPG Nats, buick race day and the GS nationals and every car there was either a buick body or buick power.

They

Complained in the forums the first night in their hotel rooms not even in person. Thats why i used the event as a example . I have a few really fast olds and have spent allot of money and time promoting olds power over the years .h/oca events have always been a good time for me and my family ..at one point i was taking four cars every year .. Not any more .. And what made me upset over all this .one of the guys complaining was running a chevy 350. But didnt want my buick there .talk about whinning..

its actually kind of ironic.. every year people host Hurst Olds days around the country i was thinking about hosting one and having it coincide with our monthly pittsburgh turbobuick meet. I was always of the belief buick and olds guys need to stick together because we are greatly out numbered. But i still believe fully that a GN had no place in the parade lap with H/Os.

even if he was running a chevy motor he still had an olds body.. a gn is neither an olds or olds powered. so instead of getting over not having ur car in a picture...you dont attend an event that you admit was a good time? Thats childish man...more so thats the female type stuff. I love buicks, i love my hursts, i love my SS.. but i love to keep them all seperate.

I certainly dont expect dick miller to let me run my turbo buick powered Hurst at the OP nats...

well thats obviously more to the story than u said at first. it seemed like u were just taking shots at the hoca.. there are some people that are really stuffy in the HOCA but thats no different than any national car club. i was not at indy in 09 but i was in 04. and there were a few issues at that event too. i just avoid the politics of clubs and try to have the best time i can.

on my way to the 06 nats i stopped in south bend and got my pics in front of the golden dome, the stadium and touchdown jesus!

Stuffys

Not the word for some .. The golden dome . Did you get the car down the access road behind the stadium for your pics ? Or was it on the main road notre dame ave? Got one you can post up ? Thanks .

pics were taken before my resto so you can see it was wrecked in the pic with the library behind it. also stopped but the big house on the way back to pittsburgh too.. actually that whole trip i planned out very well. i stopped at "rudy's" old high school while we were at the nationals in juliet IL. hit ND on the way back..also hit lansing to stop by the RE Olds museum, oldsmobile park and the olds headquarters before they tore it down, my last stop back was ann harbor to see michigan stadium.. i made a 6 hours drive into 11 hours but i enjoyed it.

i'm a huge ND fan btw.
