#2 & #3 cam bearings both have pieces missing. I found no other issues. Engine is clean as can be.

here is one of them. Picture is bad, but there are pieces falling off on the edge and by the oil hole.

" I found no other issues"
So, if the engine was starved of oil, due to the loose pickup, how did the rest of the brgs not show the same fate???

I have no idea, but they looked fine to me. But then I'm the one that thought my pickup tube was in right.

here's most of the other bearings. Maybe they are damaged, which is fine, getting redone any way. Crank looks real nice but i am going to have it looked at.

Brgs are TOAST! Good that U R going to have that crank checked, too.
I doubt that the 2 cam brgs were the source of the knock. I'd bet that a check of clearances on the brgs in the pic would reveal the real source....

From what I've seen about 8 out of
10 cams runout more than .001 out of the box. Check the cam straightness. I agree with chuck

machine shop thinks the crank will polish with no problem. As soon as i get it all back, i will put a set of these bearings in and check. Cam will not be reused.
