My Silver T-Type was hastily repainted a few years ago before I became its owner.
There is over spray on the frame under the doors (which wasn't prepped of course), and now this paint is flaking off. The condition is quite obvious when you look at the car from the side.

What color should the frame be? Should it be black, body color or something else? I'd like to grind this flaky stuff off and hit it with some primer and the appropriate rattle can color.

The frame should be black. I use satin black on frame and suspension components.

Here Ian the stuff I use or the frame

The frame was not painted from the factory it was sprayed with a mixture of hot wax & tar obviously you don't want to do that so just use any satin black paint
