I just re-installed my tranny after a fresh rebuild, all new clutches, cleaned the steels w/ the 3m pads, art carr servo, a/c band, a/c 3rd gear "blue plate", level 10 kit, everything was cleaned and reassembled, and while under the car I put on the PTS converter that I had put about 1/2 quart fluid in. Proceeded to fill tranny after having it bolted in. Added 4 quarts and started engine for a few seconds, then added 4 more and did the same thing. Once I got up to about 10 quarts total I looked underneath and saw a steady stream of fluid coming out what appeared to be the front main seal
. I lifted the car back up and checked, it appears that the leak is coming out between the seal and the torque converter. When I pull the TV cable, the pressure goes up and the leak sprays the converter and splatters everywhere. It has a "clip" around the seal like the 700's have to keep it from coming out. Needless to say I'm going to have to pull the tranny out AGAIN . The guy that did the rebuild is going to bring over a different pump, and a few different seals. What else can I check!?
