hey guys just wondering ive seen some of u guys have front cold air dams to the intake homemade and aftermarket i have this front cold airdam bottom spolier wit the kenne bell filter box where filter goes in wat i want to know is how did u guys run the tubing from the front bottom spoiler to the top where the filter is at ? wat kind of tubing is best ? or duct any tips or advice would be great cant wait to put it on

I bought a Mark Huffman cold air kit. It has a KN filter right under the left front headlight with clearance below the air flow dam. It includes chrome piping all the way to the intake by the turbo. It works great but you you need to replace the oil fill tube with a breather option. The stock block breathes through the oil fill tube into the air intake. Can send pics if you want. Brad 85GN ( I still have the stock setup)

hey brad where can one of these mark huffman cold air kits be bought? is the awebsite wit pics of this kit? also yea that would be kool if u can send me some pics of ur setup how u have done to ur ride the whole intake tubing and how it goes down to ur flow air damn below thanx

just go to www.buickgn.com, lots of nice stuff there both for Hot-Air and Intercooled GNs, he's actually on the opening page as one of the supporting vendors, before you go to the message board, hope that helps :)

just checked out buickGN's cold air intake looks nice is that the mark huffman cold air intake brad has ? brad said something bout his going to bottom air flow dam if thats not mark huffmans kit wat is he under in the vendors section?

I bought the kit about two years ago. I just tried to find Mark Huffman through Google and was unable to find him. I can send you a pic of the setup which according to Mark Huffman increases HP by 15. I have to agree with him. I am sure you can find a used one quite easly by posting on the used parts section, Seems my car- 85GN is becoming a dinosaur as the few hot airs are cannibalized into the 86\87 setup. This means more parts for the few of us left. Brad

I have the Kenne Bell ram air kit.
I didn't want to cut up my air dam,so I ran the hose and scoop in front of my radiator.
Sounds like you just need the hose.
The hose is 5" OD.

-I love that statement. I cannot believe how many "hot airs" guys that have converted their cars over to the 86/87 engines!! I almost want to turn mine back to stock appearing but still very modified;)
Oh ya, so their is no confusion guys....Mark Hueffman = http://www.buickgn.com/about us.html

i wanted to ask u if u have any pics available of how u have urs runnin that and setup up so that i can see and have an idea thanx again and to brad i would like some pics of urs too as well if its kool wit u

I think the kit came with a bracket for the cannister.
If not I made one can't remember.Been in since 1997.
I ran the hose through the opening for the headliight, down and in front of radiator.
Never had a problem with the hose.
Think I had to move the charcoal cannister over some for the stuff to clear.

that did cross my mind going through behind the headlight good opening but how did u get a 5 inch diameter hose through there ? wat kinda hose did u use ?

The hose came with the kit.
artperformance used to sell the hoses.
Might do a google search for hoses.
atr HP325-H 4 1/2" Ram air hose. $24.95
Hose should work, takes a little patience to get it routed but will work.
I chose this route because I didn't want to worry about water splashing into the scoop/filter.

Don't know for sure on the hose.
Prolly have to call and ask them.
I didn't see one on there website.
Main thing is to get one with the spiral wire,so it won't collapse.
Truck supply or hydraulics store might carry some.

went to lowes and i found some aluminum 5" od flexable duct tubing wit the spiral wire can i use that ? havent bought it yet but looks like it will work not sure? and if i can use it wat would i use to prevent water from going into the filter on like rainy days ?

hey brad and slow 85 any of u guys have pics of ur setup im curious to see wat urs look like would be nice if u can send me some pics thanx

E-mailed you some pics of the Hueffman cold air kit. The air filter protrudes several inches below the front air dam. With this kit you have to replace the stock oil fill cap with a KN breather or by a new oil fill tube like I did from Poston. This is because the air breather hose on the oil fill tube has no where to go. I tried another solution which failed and I lost 3 new turbos because of a pressurized block. Brad

hey slow 85 and brad thanx alot for the pics u both have got nice cold air setups wat i have is just like urs slow 85 same canister and i like how u have it runnin right behind the radiator thats some direct fresh air and i see u did run it into that openin behind the headlight looks difficult to get it in there though but its possible from wat ive seen . the only difference is im gonna use the bottom front air dam spoiler i have and run the tubin down one qeustion though that canister that sits there in the egine compartment some black one says something fuel on it did u have to move that at all to fit the filter canister in there like that ? and i will end up gettin that intake like urs brad and get me a new breather too thanx for all this effort and help from u guys its nice to know this forum has got kool helpful guys like that . oh and by the way i did some research on kenne-bell and was i surprised hes located near me in rancho cucamanga only 30 minutes away so i will be callin and see if they have that 5" hose available:D
