Front mount and dual fans...where to mount alky tank?

man all you guys make it so difficult trying to mount an alky bottle with a front-mount and dual fans! wanna know what I did? all I did was just use heavy duty tie-straps and strapped it around the ac lines going across the top of the fan assembly in front of the turbo...I've actually had my bottle mounted there for 2 years everyday driving and not a single problem...this is even without a turbo shield on the turbo...nothing is gonna happen to the bottle...it's constantly being cooled by sitting right in front of the fan...

BUT that is JMO! i'm tie-strap happy with my car...so kids don't try this at home

Glad you liked the setup and were able to make a bracket to suit your needs from the pics.

I don't like tie wrapping to the A/C lines only for the reason any movement near where the hard lines go to the rubber lines will cause a leak at the seals there.

Just sticking the K+N under the rubber lines caused my GN to leak out some precious R12 before I got it to fit right under there.

Tie straps to the metal lines away from the heat and near the strap clamps wouldn't bother me however.

Lotsa heavy duty nylon straps on old salvageV6.

Bottle is kinda heavy when full however and those two holes in the radiator hold down were available for use, as was my toolmaker at work.

I used tie straps on my hard a/c lines to keep my 4" maf tube from rubbing against the alternator. Under hard acceleration the engine torqued over and made the lines press down on the fan shroud. This caused the fan to freeze up and not be able to spin. This caused the little connector on the back of my fan to overheat and crack due to it trying so hard to spin the fan. That is why I'm not attaching anything else to my hard a/c lines. I like the bracket idea due to it being away from direct heat from the radiator or turbo. It will kind of sit in a little place of its own and get some air to keep it cool.
