Just got the rear swaybar from FT.
Looks MASSIVE!
I'll post some results as soon as the installation is complete.

Will that rub against the differantial housing I wonder? Not that it would probably hurt anything. Do you have any other mods to your rear suspension?

There is about 1" clearance between the bar and the diff housing. No other suspension mods. Other mods arenot really needed for a mid 12 sec car ----- At least, that is my understanding. Poly bushings are recomended though but could be a "sales pitch". Got the bar to improve cornering and traction.

Pretty amazing! One can tell the difference right away, just driving around.
A particular U-Turn I used to slow down to around 15-20 before can now easily taken around 30. Like the car is kinda on some rails. :biggrin: Good to know the car will not skid and respond in case of a emergency event.

Have you noticed any difference on takeoff? Reduced body flex/roll? Less wheelspin? Thanks for being the guinea pig for us all Jerryl.

I never had any real "track time" with the car so I can not say what take-off will be like. It has alos been raining, so hard to say. I could feel the cornering stability right away though. I will be installing the UMI lowers in the next couple of weeks.

Jerryl,

Please keep us posted on how it helps to hookup, once things dry out:D

Thanks,
John

........ Thanks for being the guinea pig for us all Jerryl.

Actually, the guinea pics for the HA crowd are some of the experts. There are a few of them. I am just 20 years behind, working on stuff they have already forgotten! :D

Hey Jerryl. You will really like that bar :cool:

That is the same bar ATR used to sell.

I upgraded my lower control arms to the UMI ones for added strength. People said that bar would destroy the stockers. Not sure if it would have but I want to keep the original parts in good condition so I upgraded.

Enjoy!

I like it already.
Do you have any traction improvement comparison feedback?

Edit;
Here is some more reading on this "ATR style" swaybar

I only run BFG street radials so traction has always been iffy for me at best.

I noticed that instead of one tire holding marginal traction and the other starting to slip they both either hold or break loose at the same time. Not sure that is a good thing or not but I like it :cool:

I have never asked Mike where he gets his and nobody can ask ATR where they got theirs but I suspect they are the same bar.

I got the UMI LCA's for 89 bucks or something like that during a group purchase. I think there is one person in the low 11's in my club that runs that bar on the stock lowers but she might have them boxed...not sure...

Read that other post...glad you got it to eventually go in :)

FT = Full Throttle
I you can buy it off the on line store $149.99 or call Mike
