OK so my 87 was all but empty putting gas in it got to like $25 and its starts spitting out the top. Give it a second manuverd the nozzle for gas all around and it keeps spitting over anyone ever have this problem

May have been the pump itself...did you try a different one?

Have had problem several times and gauge is not accurate

For some reason these cars like to do this. I found that I needed to slow down the pump speed by releasing the lever some. This is with a stock tank.

The other thing is the CCP vent line. Make sure that it isn't plugged.

how many gallons can you get for "like $25"?
you probably had a half a tank of gas when you pulled into the station, and it was full.
 
Well I put $20 in when it was completely empty and car wouldn't start. Then drove 40 miles and only held like 25 bucks before spitting out so unless the gas was like 1.50 a gal is say a only had a half tank tops so like 9 gallons and it did it I'm thinking
