Fuel Gauge Not Working!!

My fuel gauge is only going to about 1/2 tank when I fill it up. I had a friend check the sending unit and he said it had the proper ohms. Also, when I disconnected the sending unit the needle on the gauge went all the way up? Even tried a new sending unit, and nothing. Very frustrated...

hello; My only suggestion is to just use your trip meter. I hope it works. My gas needle works but I usually fill at about the 250 mile mark and that way I can get track of the MPG's just for the heck of it.
