So OK, what happens if someone buys a late model car and puts aftermarket parts on it like injectors, headers, exhaust, bigger turbo, etc.? Does it automatically fail? And I'm not even talking about modifying 20-30 year old cars, many of which you can't even buy stock original parts for anymore. If this is the case, how do companies like Magnaflo and Edelbrock stay in business? This makes no sense.
Based on this information..................Yes, it automatically fails if those parts are not C.A.R.B approved (Clean Air Resource Board) You also have to have proof that the parts are CARB approved. Aftermarket companies market to other states than just California.
