I put a hotwire kit on the car its already connected at the alternator.

The hotwire kit still uses the ecm prime cycle..
Hook the hotwire so it's hot all the time.

I thought the alternator mount point was hot all the time.

Alternator post is hot all the time. Behind the alternator are two plugs, green one is the tach output and the black one is the fuel pump test lead. Connecting the black one to the alternator post will energize the relay in your hotwire setup and run the pump.
