Fuel Leak, uh oh

Finally got my intercooler back on the car, filled the alchy tank and was ready to go for a cruise but while it was idling I noticed fuel seeping from the bottom of the fuel regulator. Took it off and found the bottom O ring was shot. Great! Anybody know where I can find a replacement O ring? I'm guessing the variety pack of rubber rings at the local parts store won't last.

Call your local parts store they might have them.I know they are included with the intake gasket kit and the gasket kit sold by the tr vendors from fel pro.Did you ever rebuild your motor?,maybe you have some buried in your garage and forgot about them.I have a bunch left over from this and that over the years.Someone might be able to give you the exact size then you can go to napa and get fuel resistant(viton?) ones.They were the same for many cars.

Thanks for the reply. No, never rebuilt the motor, it's about time though with 195,000 miles. So does the O ring attach to the fuel line or the regulator? I never really noticed before.

It just rolls over the edge of the line.As soon as you look at it you will see how to do it,it's pretty simple.Then place the line back into the regulator and thread it by hand.try to push it up and seat it a bit and hold it there while you start the threads by hand.Get a few good turns to make sure your no cross threaded befor eyou wrench on it.Don't crank it down too tight.I have seen these seal without the o-ring somehow but do not recommend it.

These o-rings are still available at the GM dealer. If they dont have them individually you will have to order them in a ten pack. Id rather use factory fitting o-rings then the aftermarket ones.

These aftermarket FPRs dont come w/GM orings when new.

Just take the old one to NAPA or wherever and tell them it's for fuel. Any auto parts store would have it.

Do not install it dry, or it also will be leaking.
