I'm sure this has been asked quite a few times but how long should there be pressure in your fuel rail after you turn the car off?

It takes about a half hour to loose the pressure in the rail. Some say that's ok, some say that's why too short of a time, what do you guys think?

I'm not sure about how long the pressure should stay up, but on the Iroc, after 30 minutes it still will have 20psi. The GN would usually have pressure up to over an hour later, but I don't have the gauge on the GN anymore, it's on the Iroc:eek:

let's put it this way...when i had my leaky stockers with 80k miles on them...fuel pressure would stay in there for at the most 15-20 minutes...

i changed to the delphi 50's and now fuel pressure stays in there for about an hour...these are brand new injectors...

Mine is down w/in ten minutes and I know they are leaking. New ones are coming this winter

well my pressure goes down within 5-10 minutes after shutting down.Do injectors that leak down make the car run any different?I mean I think my car runs pretty good now,if I replace with tight injectors will it make it run better or will I just hold pressure longer in the rail?
jim

Half an hour down to 20lbs. hour about 5 or so.This was starting at 40.Hood mounted gauge.

My car has been sitting for an hour and the fp is still 20# with 50# injectors.

Maintaining FP after shutoff is sort of like mine's bigger than yours. Unless you have a major problem with your injectors, it doesn't make one damn bit of difference...
